    PCSPECIALIST Lafité Pro Fan noise

Definitely not the only laptop with this issue. My new Initia has a lousy fan profile on CCC, the Honor Magocbook 14 has no software to control the fan, and now you talk of this one. 1. Download and install Clevo Control Center. If there's little fan profiling options there beyond offset, then...

PCSPECIALIST Review: 15.6" Initia AMD - it came, it had to go back, now it's running splendidly.

@FeVieira interesting on the latency front as I haven't altered the USB settings or PCI Express settings. It really is running absolutely rock solid with fewer tweaks than any system I've had since the days of Windows 7 and an Athlon CPU. Yes, I did lose the keyboard shortcuts once I took CCC...

PCSPECIALIST Review: 15.6" Initia AMD - it came, it had to go back, now it's running splendidly.

The moment of truth arrived with DPD delivering before 9.30am on Friday morning. The kitchen table became a laptop zone with my old Ultranote, the new Initia, and an Honor Magicbook 14 bought to send on to a friend next week after I'd played with it. Initia booted up fine with Windows installed...

PCSPECIALIST Review: 15.6" Initia AMD - it came, it had to go back, now it's running splendidly.

Nope, it was a signed for delivery and the redelivery email went out. All arranged for tomorrow so I shall sit in the apartment foyer and wait for him to show his face. :) 2. Kinda expected. Hospitality is in dire straits. Gonna be a tough life as a head chef for the next year. 3. Me too!

PCSPECIALIST Review: 15.6" Initia AMD - it came, it had to go back, now it's running splendidly.

In the space of 15 minutes this afternoon I've had: -a DHL courier turn up with a laptop for me to send on to a friend, buzz the intercom, talk to me... and then run off without delivering. -An email for work saying that I will be out of a job once furlough ends at the end of April. -And then...

PCSPECIALIST Review: 15.6" Initia AMD - it came, it had to go back, now it's running splendidly.

Update: PCS have done a full stress test for three hours and couldn't replicate the error. It will be coming back to me soon and so I will go for a full wipe of the stock PCS SSD and will reinstall W10 on there myself and see how it goes. If it passes the test, then I shall remove the SSD...

PCSPECIALIST Review: 15.6" Initia AMD - it came, it had to go back, now it's running splendidly.

This is why I decided to sleep on it. You're right. It's a major fault and major faults aren't good enough. It's a shame because it runs beautifully now. Setting it up as a low DPC latency audio laptop has been very easy, very few tweaks needed. I'll park the RMA in later.

PCSPECIALIST Review: 15.6" Initia AMD - it came, it had to go back, now it's running splendidly.

Up to 2019, I'd always used PCs at home that I built myself. Bought my first laptop in 2019, a PCS Ultranote 15.6" with I5-8300H, MX250 GPU, 8GB. It's been an absolute workhorse for my music stuff running Reaper, Helix Native for guitar fun, Ableton Live for general tomfoolery. The desktop has...

PCSPECIALIST Music Production New PC Build

Interesting. I ordered a 15.6" AMD Initia earlier today and I'm curious as to whether the 4000 mobile series do likewise.

PCSPECIALIST Music Production New PC Build

Excellent soundcard choice. I'm using a Babyface Pro FS and an SPL Crimson. Desktops generally don't have so many DPC problems as laptops in my experience so you should be fine.

PCSPECIALIST Music Production New PC Build

@musicprodpc DPC latency is evil. The mods could give you a far better technical explanation that I could. From the musician's point of view, too much DPC latency means your audio will suffer pops and clicks. You can reduce it if you know what bits of the PC you should tweak but it can take...

Then I'm happy to take it all back and inform the gent that W 10 Home is indeed the way forward :) The advice on 20H2 does stand though. Cracking when it comes to DPC latency. Not like the problems I and others had with 1903.

I said it was my preference, that's all. I'm wrong. No need for a mod pile in. This is why you're mods and I'm a pleb! :)

PCSPECIALIST Music Production New PC Build

As a music build, it's fine. Dunno what type of music you're doing, if it's first steps into Ableton then it's absolute overkill but you can be sure that you won't be running out of CPU with this one. Things I'd change: Graphics card: something passive and basic and Radeon ideally. Even...

PCSPECIALIST Streaming and recording 60 fps with these specs?

Simple. Someone's given you a system that is better spec'd for the same money as the system you'd spec'd.
