The build above is good but you need to decide if you want to pay the extra £89 for the wireless card. I personally would use ethernet cable so I would not want the WiFi compatibility.
Well the 3080 is already pretty close in gaming performance to the 3090 so the 3080ti just narrows the gap even more. I'd say go for a 3080 now and you can amend your order later if you're still waiting. There is a shortage of 3080s here with some people approaching working day 90/100 and still...
Someone here will give you a full spec but in my opinion you'd want an AMD Ryzen 5800x or 5900x processor, 32GB DDR4 3600MHZ ram and an NVIDIA 3070 or 3080 video card. The Ti variants are coming out in May apparently. PSU, I wouldn't go less than 850w.
I'm day 34. 5950x, Crosshair VIII Hero, 6700 xt. Was told on live chat today that the CPU is out of stock. Nothing was mentioned about the motherboard being out of stock to me.
I'm happy for you all who are into the building and testing phase. I am however not happy with PCS. When I called them on Friday I was told there is no advantage in wait time by switching from the 3060 ti to the 3070. Obviously there is as a bunch of people who are around the same waiting time...
I'm on working day 33. 5950x, Crosshair VIII Hero motherboard, Phanteks p600s case. Not sure when I'll go into building. I've been without a PC since summer last year due to my motherboard failing. I've managed to strip my PC bare and sell most parts.
This is exactly what I did just a couple of days ago. My 1440p monitor is only 60hz so the 6700 xt is perfect for me. In a few years time I'll get something more substantial and will game at 4k.
Wow that's well hidden. It actually works in mobile mode. I went to my order page and right at the bottom of the page there is a little black box with a white arrow pointing up. When I Click that I then see live chat. Thanks!
How do I locate live chat? Can't see it anywhere. On mobile mode or desktop mode. Where is it? I Even went to the contact Us page and its not listed there. Can anyone please post a screenshot?
Any chair classed as "gaming" you should avoid. They are not quality chairs. You're better off picking a good office chair. Check reviews online and watch some YouTube videos. Gamers Nexus did a video recently on chairs. Maybe someone on here can give recommendations.
Regarding the ram speed, do we know the CAS latency (CL) of the 3600mhz ram? Because its possible the 3200mhz ram has better CL. For example a CL18 3600mhz vs CL16 3200mhz would equal similar performance? Or am I wrong? I'm asking also because I have 3600mhz on my build and I'm wondering what...
Wow, that opened my eyes. Very interesting. I'm going to have to invest into some sata SSDs for gaming since the difference is huge. PCI-E SSD of course for the main OS.
Yes for the same price the 3070 I'd take everytime. The difference between the 3060 ti and 3700xt is closer but still the 3700xt is £55 cheaper (oddly all the major review sites says one big disadvantage of the 6700xt is it's overpriced and costs more than the 3060 ti but on PCS, its cheaper.)
Yes you want the OS installed on the M.2 SSD drive as the mechanical hard drive would be where you install your games and personal files. The SSD is going to have a much faster read/write speed.
I haven't had a working PC for so long now but when I tested Guild Wars 2 on my SSD and HDD I didn't...
I agree with Ash. The price difference between a 6700XT and 3070 is close to £200 (at least for me when I amend my order). Yes the 3070 is a better card and if you want to enable DLSS in certain titles and enable Ray tracing then yes the 3070 would probably be worth it, but if you don't care for...

You could install your games on the SSD too but if you're like me who has hundreds of GB of games...
I echo what the others say, definitely get a higher wattage. 750w as a bare minimum. Myself personally I've gone with 1000w. Not only for future proofing but PSUs run more efficiently at lower loads. If you require 500w and you have for example two gold rated PSUs, one 600w and one 850w then the...
I've just swapped my 3060 ti to a 6700XT. I saved £55 from the switch. If I went to the 3070 it adds £112 extra. The difference between the 3060ti and the 3070 is around 10-15% at best and it's not worth (to me) the extra £112 (£167 difference now I've switched cards)
The 6700xt I hear has...
I'm on working day 32 and switched just a moment ago from a 3060ti to a 6700XT. It's £55 cheaper, it has more RAM but more importantly I heard the queues are less. Yeah I don't have DLSS or good Raytracing performance but I'm gaming at 2k @ 60hz and I have games that are 3-4 year old to play...
