I purchased a desktop from PC Specialist a few years ago (never had any issues with it) and now looking for a similar workhorse laptop to basically replace it. Not too bothered about storage (got plenty of that with my desktop), but want recommendations on processor...
Hi,
After some recommendations/advice on this spec for a workhorse laptop to backup my desktop. Will be for general day to day use / when I'm not sitting at my desktop and want to do the same things including photo editing (lightroom) but nothing too strenuous. Apart from that will be web...
Hi
Yes the RGB lighting is still one. ICue software is installed but believe the fan speed can not be controlled in the software.
The spec was upgraded to Ryzen 9 3900x CPU, 115i Platinum Cooler and 32GB RAM
Case
CORSAIR iCUE 220T RGB AIRFLOW MID TOWER GAMING CASE

AMD Ryzen 7...
Hi,
Not had my pc long but one of the fans in the top of the case has stopped spinning - its a Corsair RGB fan that came with the case. Anyone had this issue and the cause? I'm sure its not dust as the pc is brand new.
Hi,
I'm ordering an extra SSD for this case. I assume they are pretty straightforward to self install? Had a look at a few YouTube videos and they all look consistent regardless of what case you have. Do you have any pre-written guidance on installing these? Thanks.
Ah yes it appears they are, that's why the option to change is greyed out, not applicable. Still the noise isn't uncomfortable and once I'm listening to music/movies its completely unnoticeable. Time to move on and spend more time on why I bought this PC - I've spent the first part of this...
The BIOS is allowing me to set the speed to silent but the option to apply the setting is greyed out. Same with options for standard, turbo, full speed and manual. Can't apply any of them.
I did actually go into the BIOS before using the software and was able to select the fans to Quiet but hasn't made any difference. I'll keep pursuing! Thanks.
Thanks. The iCue software appears only to control the lighting for the RAM and lighting core for the fans, doesn't seem to be an option for fan speed. I saw a YouTube video and I think there should be a profile for Performance that allows to control the fan speed. The only profiles on my...
Hey I'm having the same issue, don't seem to be able to control the fan speed using the Corsaire iCue software. Only option seems to be controlling the lighting for the RAM and fans.
Hi, its hard to tell as when I put my ear to them all I can hear them whirring but I'd say the fan at the back is the loudest. How do I check the speed in the BIOS?
HI
Got my new desktop this week, all looking great! One thing I've noticed is the above case is more noisy than I thought. It has two fans at the front and one at the back, in addition to the Platinum cooler fans on the top and ultra quite power supply. Anyone else noticed it is a little...
Thanks.
Was also having a look at this one by Philips. Bit cheaper but seems to have the same resolution and specs.
Think this would be suitable?

What's the best power supply to pair with this CPU? I've currently got the Corsair 550w TXm on order but on a lot of the specs I'm seeing 650w and 750w being paired with it. Just wondering if I need to go higher.
Hi. I may have to resign to getting a smaller monitor, the dimensions of the 34" are huge and that's after clearing my desk space. Can you recommend anything smaller up to 31.5"? I've seen some BenQ and LG's that are £500+ but I'll just have to up my budget if that's the price bracket they...
Now this would be my dream monitor and can't believe that price!
Thanks. Am I better sticking to this size to make best use of the spec? Happy to get a 27" or 31" but a 34" at that price is more temping.
If it's an add on to my existing order then anything up to £300.
Otherwise if it's something I'll get at a later date then will pay much more. More keen on the monitor specs to suit the build.
