Worth the wait then, djsubtronic? I'm only on working day 7 since ordering and already getting impatient.
Honestly, I'm terrible! That said I did wait until it said everything was in stock before ordering so I was just sat staring at the website waiting for a few weeks before actually ordering

My upgrade will be the same..plus i was living on a 7670m...had to play witcher 3 on a graphics settings lower than even low by editing config files on the lowest resolution

Definitely worth the wait. The screen alone is beautiful. Unlike the P650Sx which I believe used an AOU (Chinese brand) panel for the 1080 IPS, this one seems to use an LG Philips one. Viewing angles, contrast ratio, and colour vibrance are immense!

So far I've gotten everything working except the SD card, which is where the pictures are. I am wondering if it's a hardware issue? It feels like I have to really force the card in there, not a smooth glide. I've posted on notebookreview, so hopefully someone will be able to help. In the meantime here are some crappy pics I took on my phone.

I had a 15.6 inch Vaio before this, the weight difference isn't something I can really tell. It's not heavy by any means, easily carried around in one hand (minus the power brick). Although it is really thin, it's slightly on the bigger side for a 15 inch as there's quite a lot of space above and below the screen. However it's not so big that you'd mistake it for a 17 inch laptop.

Haven't done any proper benching yet but I did run 3DMark 11 (got something like 10500 while many things were running in the background), the laptop didn't even feel warm around the vent areas after the benchmark finished.Any idea what kind of temps you're getting with this beast during gaming or anything intensive at all?
Mine has been dispatched so hoping it can be delivered by tomorrow

Most of us wait 10-12 Business days for build at the minute (I am on Day 10, some people ahead of me in the Queue had it go into build then)

So I am a complete idiot. I realised I was sticking the SD card in upside down... hence the shoving. For anyone who may make the same mistake as me, the SD card contacts need to face up when inserting - that's a first for me from all the laptops I've used.
With the 980M the bottom of chassis cover is plastic, but the palm area around the touchpad is aluminium.
Anyway with the SD card ready, here are the pics I took two nights ago.

So far I've just tried Far Cry 4 for a brief moment (just to see how it ran), put it on the "NVIDIA" graphics preset, which is higher than ultra. Got around 40-50 fps at 1080p. Haven't had a chance to do much gaming yet as yesterday I decided that because my old Windows install was full of crap and bugs and issues, it wasn't be fair to subject this delightful device to such a horrendous Windows install. So started over clean. I'll get to some gaming this weekend for sure.

I just got my 17.3 Defiance today but there wasn't really much time to test it. I will get on it tomorrow when off. One thing noticed though, every now and then, the fans go on at full power in small bursts. It only lasts for 2-3 seconds but was wondering whether this is something normal or not. Any other Defiance owners experienced this?
