Excellent service so far!

There are also other reasons why I don't want to phone them from my mobile after being held in waiting systems for over hour on premium rate no in the past and ending up with astronomical phone bills. And other time not liking what I heard coming from a customer service rep I once smashed up a brand new iPhone. So again you can understand my
reluctance to want to have to phone them.

In the case of your iPhone and reading your posts i would say you have a bit of a stress issue and need to chill!!
If you are this unhappy with PCS just ditch your order and find a shop and buy a PC of the rack! These folks are by far the cheapest priced builders in the UK so they are very busy. Lead times are just an average of what they push out the door and are a guide only.
Just be sure that they guarantee the build to be with you by xmas and chill out a bit as it'll all be cool in the end.
All the best dude and i hope it gets sorted! (I was in pre pro for 14 days but they get there eventually)

Hi if another company could sell me the same computer for the same price I would go elsewhere. As for stress levels if you met me you would realise that I am one of the most chilled out blokes you can meet. I just don't like being treated unfairly. As for the previous bad experiences in the phone to customer service reps a word of advice never under any circumstances contemplate going with an energy service provider with power in there name they have left me scarred for life. A funny little story I had one of there sales reps knock at my door not so long ago trying to blag me into switching back to them. I told him that his company are theives and laughed in his face and told him to stop wasting his breath he would have more luck convincing my dog and that if his company were the last service providers going I would sooner buy a petrol electricity generator and light a fire in my living room for warmth. So this is why I don't like speaking to any companies over the phone.

What laptop design did you order by the way?

I ordered a 15.6" Optimus iv, I know about the guaranteed delivery it should be delivered before then I would be extremely disappointed if it wasnt or if I have to send it straight back with it not being up to scratch. I just think that the lead times table is a farce. It has dropped even lower since I first posted in this thread. If you don't see it jump up soon to reflect on my order and yours then I know they must be making it up as they go along which is misleading information.

They should be delivered well before Xmas. I ordered mine on the 17th November so surely it should start moving through the gears this week.

I'm trying to survive on a Samsung NC10 Netbook in Silent mode for the time being, which is torture.

I should hope so, at the end of the day I have come too far now have paid my money and just want my laptop, to cancel and go elsewhere I understand they are busy but they should take necessary steps to forfill orders that have received, work later work weekends I don't care this is the 21st century. This is the busiest time of year for my company I am in work now i got up at 0400 in the morning to come to work today and i probably wont get home till about 6pm this evening i havnt had a day off in over a fortnight. I am raking in the cash with the overtime, put it this way the computer I have ordered is payed for cash all of my kids Christmas presents are paid for cash. I wouldn't be able to do this I'd if it wasnt for the overtime and I know come January it will be quite so I take it while it's available. I worked over 70 hours last week it's called demand and supply. I don't care if it's gonna take longer to get here than I hoped, I would just like to be informed of any delays or a simple apology in an email explaining why it is taking so long, I don't think that is too much to ask like I said earlier it takes seconds or mins at most to write an email. When you see orders getting processed before yours that have been placed after yours you start to think what kind of system do they have in place, surely it should be done in order of receiving the orders. If they got to mine and thought we haven't got x in stock let's move onto the next surely at this instance I should have be notified.

I understand your frustration, I had to wait around 23 working days for my order to arrive but the wait was worth it. The overtime to fulfil the high demand could just mean higher prices which is something I would not like to see, if in a rush then there is always the fast track service but personally I would prefer to put that money towards my system and just wait. I also have bad experience over the phone when dealing with virgin or t-mobile but the sales department and technical support from PCS are very friendly and helpful, tax other posters mentioned the best way to get an update on your order is to give them a call and I am pretty sure there is a good reason why some orders are taking less time than orders. Speculating that their lead times table is a farce is a bit unfair though.

Fair enough I understand them not working the overtime as I get paid more for it and it would reflect on prices. I don't mind waiting even if it is 23 days, all I ask is to be kept informed not left in the dark. I don't won't to have to chase things up because if I do and someone tries to blag me or pull the wool over my eyes I will see straight through it and will be even more upset. People must think I'm hopping up and down as I'm typing, I am completely relaxed and chilled out I am simply just expressing my concerns. I am not ratty I am just worried that I am being treated in fairly that's all.

You are aware the lead times are a running blow by blow account of how PCS are doing at the minute, it doesn't reflect how long your laptop will take? Two laptops/builds being delivered in 1 day (for example) wouldn't change the results due to the volume PCS are producing. You have ordered at what is potentially one of PCS's busiest times of year so everything is going to take longer than expected. Bit of a pain I know. Not trying to say its the been handled the best way though.

I don't care if it's gonna take longer to get here than I hoped, I would just like to be informed of any delays or a simple apology in an email explaining why it is taking so long, I don't think that is too much to ask like I said earlier it takes seconds or mins at most to write an email. Again I agree you maybe should be informed but saying "it takes seconds or mins at most to write an email" is not the whole story as there are probably many many other people in the same situation as you. This is not a 'defence' of PCS or anything I'm just trying to inject a bit of reality, what would you rather them do? Spend a fair amount of time writing the short emails explaining orders are going to be delayed (compared to the suggested lead times which are not a guarantee)... or use that person/people to continue to progress systems etc.

When I ordered my rig I was in pre-production for about 15 working days until I amended my order to remove some out of stock parts (which I ended up sourcing myself) and that caused my rig to sprint through building/testing etc. and be delivered rapidly after that.

I think they are undergoing a problem with demand and supply at the moment (I think its been discussed elsewhere in the forums too actually), PCS are in massive demand but the increase in volume is only temporary and so cant (for example) hire too many extra staff to help deal with it, things will just take longer.

If you don't want to ring (for the many reasons mentioned above) and PCS have not replied to your email as of tomorrow, I'd send another email politely following up and maybe (if you can, don't know if you would be able to at work) try the live chat. If you get someone on there (might be difficult at the minute as they will be busy - check the call waiting times here http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/call-waiting/ and try when its quiet. You might be able to find some answers on there. (where you are in the queue/what parts are missing).

Failing all that, a quick check would be to try and apply fast track to your order (or configure an identical order on the configurator), it shouldn't let you if there are parts out of stock for example (that method might potentially say everything is ok when it isn't though so I would take whatever result you get with a pinch of salt).

EDIT:

No not at all :) This is the forum for that sort of thing in either case. Of course you're worried about your order... who wouldn't be (I certainly was when I was waiting haha) It is a lot of money. I think the only point we are making is honestly everything will be ok. Even if it isn't 100% straight away (which I would believe most are - mine was for instance) PCS are VERY good at making things right!

You wont get fobbed off if you did phone them though mate, they'll go find out the info you want and tell it to you straight :) Very good for that I found. Must admit, I was in the fortunate position of being offshore when my rig was being built so could do nothing but wait. But still, it was well worth it in the end!

If you are like me the more I have to wait for a reply the more frustrated I will get. Just try to give them a call, I am almost certain you will not get a bad experience as the one you previously described with a different company. I had an issue with the delivery in 2 occasions and I was fuming and I wanted to vent my frustration over the phone but their customer service was so nice and helpful it felt like trying to smack hello kitty in the face, just couldn't do it :)

Btw I feel for you with that net book I sincerely hope you get sorted soon.

Thanks.

I think at the time of processing, parts relating to your order should be checked with regards availability and if anything is out of stock, you should be informed of it which would give you the opportunity to change if you didn't want to wait for them to become available.

This should happen before the status changes to Pre-Production.

Also, if all parts for your build are in stock at the time of ordering, they should be assigned to you and not given to someone else who orders a fast track service. It may work this way though, I don't know.

I thank you all for your kind words and reassurances, I just can't live chat due to my work I can send a quick email thats about all. I can't bring myself to phone them I would rather just wait. Like you say they are probably doing everything they can. I just hope they are doing what is morally right and processing the orders in a fair way, for instance not doing peoples who are constantly on the phone complaining or who have spent more first. I am going to try my hardest to stay away from the forums now and just wait to see what happens. I just pray it is wright when it gets here, I will be singing there praises then and be saying as you are that it was in fact worth the wait.

You might find that your order is delayed because a particular part is out of stock. They don't tend to email you about this (judging by previous posts on the forum) and people expedite this by calling them and seeing that a particular part will take x days to arrive, and then either waiting or changing your order.

Hope you get your computer soon mate. I don't want you breaking another iphone! :)
Also, i've never had a problem with the aforementioned "power" company. They even have a freephone and local number (for mobiles) for customer services. Think they have improved since you've been with them (as much as any pain in the ass utilities company can!)

Lol, about the mentioned utility company, that's what the rep was trying to say they have changed have been taken over etc, I was deadly serious about the petrol generator and I'd sooner set fire to coffee table for warmth I don't have a log fire or anything, I just hope for your sake they have changed because they stole money from me and still owe it, but they are blacklisted forever in my book, I just wish I had recorded the conversation which resulted in the iPhone breakage and posted it on YouTube. They would be out of business. The best part was the sales rep said he gets a lot of people stating the same thing about being ripped off and would never touch them again, good luck with that one sincerely and keep an eye on your bills very closely... You have been warned.

Any progress for your order jedimaca?
If its any consolation, mine is still in building (don't know why it takes 2 days to build!)

Hi niklad, no word yet from them...the best part is they opened the email I sent them this morning so have obviously read it, but didn't have the decency to reply. I have given up with them and have more important concerns in my life at the moment that I'd rather not go into. I am not going to chase them up it will get here when it gets here, it will all be going into my review and not just on this website the longer it takes the worse it will look for them im just not bothered anymore.

My order went in on the 13th of Nov and today went into test. I am hopeful for delivery on Saturday 8th that's 5 days of off a one month wait! The hardest longest wait of my life lol so i rewarded myself with some new toys yesterday in the form of the Saitek flight system X52 Pro and a Trackir 5 which arrive tomorrow lol so at least i get to take my mind of off the wait and pretend to play games on my new Joystick :)
I have been kept up to date ever since the PC went from Pre Pro to build! so all in all not to shabby!
