@rubensolo

what spec are you looking at now?

If you wanna over clock, you're going to need a decent case, a "K" version of the cpu you have chosen and atleast the titan fenrir.

An ssd is great, but to be honest, i've used both ssd and hdd as boot drives in my pc. The ssd is great nice and fast, but the HDD 2tb caviar black, was just a little slower and more reliable.

Hello,
I am not planning on Overclocking, I chosen 1gb caviar black and SSD 120 GB. I also taken away the wireless since I mainly use wired connection and went for the GTX 590 but it seems it will delay my order considerably. I am still unsure on whether I chosen the right case.

3gb 120gb ssd
I am not sure on the differences between each case. Any reason for the cm 690 II?

the intel 320 120gb is a good choice, however the much faster hyper x may only be a little bit more.

yeah the cm 690 II, has very good cooling and cable management. (will post links later for more info, in lesson at uni at the moment, )

BTW, do you think that 120gb for the SSD is big enough for the 1st hard drive?
Thanks,
Ruben

The cm690 does look like a beast of a case, loads of reviews online and vids on YouTube, case can have 10 fans so should be great for cooling, this time in 7 days mine will have been ordered :)

Thank your for the advice on the SSD size. I am just patiently waiting to get the desktop, got an email from PCs indicating that there might be a delay since the GTX 590 is in high demand.

why not go for the 7970? newest tech on market, best single gpu going. food for thought.

I will be using the ASUS 3D VG278H and I though using the GTX 590 will make it easier to use the 3D mode. The delay should not be a problem, the 7970 is cheaper which could allow me to upgrade other components but is it better?

if you recive the 3d vision kit also your best bet is a nvidia card as its all compatible but when you come to set up read the manual as setting up the drivers for 3D mode is a bit akward.

Crap! I was expecting it to be straight forward, I believe the asus VG278H does come with the emitter and glasses from Nvidia.

its pretty straight forward just seems odd what you have to do, uninstall all display drivers, install the 3d Vision drivers then reinstall the display drivers. It took me a while to figure this all out but it states clearly how to do this in the instructions.

if you have a product key all you need to do is select no os but ring pcs and tell them you have your own product key, they will install windows 7 for you but you will need to enter your key when you first set up the pc at your home.

Hello,
Since I am a student I can get a discount on Microsoft Windows 7 Professional Upgrade 32/64-bit (English), for £57 however I am a bit unsure with the "upgrade" bit, does it mean I cannot use it unless there is a previous windows installed?
Here is the link:

My unit is still in pre-production and I can save around £20 if I can buy this online and provide the key to PCS

Thanks,
Ruben
