Watch Dogs on PC

Are you sure its not tied to a different account? Maybe you could contact EA about this, should be able to give them the code and they can work out whats happened and maybe offer you a new code

Nope I only have one account. Nah. I'm not that bothered about it to be honest.

I bought it.
The story is not bad and the overall theme is pretty cool what with the drive by hacking and such.
But it runs really badly on my system. I struggle to achieve even 40 fps on medium which is kind of ridiculous considering that the graphics are pretty poor even on ultra.
It was either this or Wolfenstein and I regret my decision to be honest.

Also, I get some really wierd mouse lag issues when I run the game in windowed or full screen. I have to run it in "borderless" to be able to play the game properly.
It's obviously really badly optimized and I should have realised this after the many other Ubisoft games I purchased that suffer similar issues. Hell they still haven't even come out with an official fix for black flag and it's crashing bug that prevents you from playing past the Principe sequence.

Thats strange, I was getting the same performance on a single 570

I had the same problem today where I get a multi-coloured screen. I'm installing the AMD Catalyst™ 14.6 Beta Driver, which is 'suppose' to help. If that doesn't do anything, I give up with the game until they release the update.

FF, if you can follow this tutorial up to step 5 then upload the resulting .zip file here I'll take a look at your BSODs for you, it should give you a pointer of what the problem is.

Right, I'll get to the meat and bones of it. There are a couple of things you can try but ultimately it may be a HDD error. We'll get to that in a minute. STOP 0x0000007A is a KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR. Usual causes: Memory, Paging file corruption, File system, Hard drive, Cabling, Virus infection, Improperly seated cards, BIOS, Bad motherboard, Missing Service Pack. Link.

Firstly, do you have iTunes installed? I need to know the answer to that. GEARAspiWDM can be related to iTunes and it shows up in the raw Stack text. If you don't have iTunes we need to look into that.

Lastly, this seems to be pointing towards your HDD having errors.

Code:
KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR (7a)
The requested page of kernel data could not be read in. Typically caused by
a bad block in the paging file or disk controller error. Also see
KERNEL_STACK_INPAGE_ERROR.
[B][COLOR="#FF0000"]If the error status is 0xC000000E, 0xC000009C, 0xC000009D or 0xC0000185,
it means the disk subsystem has experienced a failure.[/COLOR][/B]
If the error status is 0xC000009A, then it means the request failed because
a filesystem failed to make forward progress.
Arguments:
Arg1: fffff6fc40028020, lock type that was held (value 1,2,3, or PTE address)
Arg2: ffffffffc000000e, error status (normally i/o status code)
Arg3: 00000000dc693860, current process (virtual address for lock type 3, or PTE)
Arg4: fffff880050040cc, virtual address that could not be in-paged (or PTE contents if arg1 is a PTE address)

Debugging Details:
------------------

ERROR_CODE: (NTSTATUS) 0xc000000e - A device which does not exist was specified.

Follow this tutorial to run Check Disk.

Open an elevated command prompt, type in sfc/scannow and hit enter. Post back with the results.

Follow this tutorial to run SeaTools to check your hard drive.

Let me know how you get on.

I've been training on BSODs for a short while mate and it's just learning what to look for. Normally you can use three commands (plus reading the system info in the .zip) to get the info you need. It's finding the info that's the hard bit sometimes, especially if it's hardware related, and then finding the correct solution to the fault/s once you've found them. One thing about BSOD dumps is that they can be full of false positives, that then becomes a lot more complicated.

Yes I have iTunes.

Edit: I can't run the Check Disc. It says that 'Windows can't check disc while it's in use' ??

It's trying to check your OS disk, it explains in the tutorial linked what to do. Read it again and follow the SeaTools tutorial as well.

Here's the chkdsk done in Command Prompt (I'll update this to show the next test)

I downloaded and ran the SeaTools. But it says it won't check it. I don't really want to run anything in DOS.

I guess there isn't a way round this to run the program while on my desktop?

I've looked a bit closer into this as I'd be surprised if the HDD was faulty, it's possible but unlikely. Did you uninstall iTunes? I could do with you doing that and trying to play W_D again. The GEARAspiWDM driver shows up a lot of times in the stack and is really causing a problem, it's also very old and could need updating. If you uninstall iTunes and play W_D again it will be interesting to see if that problem shows up again, it will at least prove/disprove iTunes.

Code:

start end module name

I don't think so, If you follow that tutorial to the letter you'll be fine.

Hey what's some peoples Uplay usernames? I only have one friend and as much as I hate the platform I would like to have a few friends on there that play Watch Dogs, AC or Trials :)
