I'm assuming you have had different drivers between then and now?
Have you checked that graphics card is seated properly and everything is properly connected?
I slapped the settings up to ultra yesterday and played for a couple of hours with only a tiny bit of stuttering, mostly when driving. I must be one of the lucky ones.
As much as it was off to a ropey start I am enjoying the game. The story is good and does keep you interested (although I've only just completed Act I) I've been mostly doing the side missions etc. I've tried to invade other players too but I'm clearly terrible at it and keep dying so have no reputation. Not managed to get into an online race yet but I suspect I'll suck at that too as I don't really like the driving in the game.
Still, it is a good game.
I can't play on Ultra though .
I recommend updating your drivers then, that should improve stability

Can't play on ultra with quad 690's...wow....just goes to show how random it is, for whether it works or not. Have you tried 1 card? Might be SLI...I only got 10-20 more FPS but it was way more unstable.
I had the multi-coloured screen last night and this morning.
Once the router went off, I reloaded the game and the mini-map was working. But today, even though the router was off, it wasn't.
What does 'verifying the files' on Uplay do?
Maybe I could begin a new game or uninstall and reinstall the game and see if that fixes the problem?
Yep that's correct. I'm not able to play SimCity any more.
