Im hoping theres some DirextX12 to play with tonight, i know that Fire Strike has a DirectX12 test now... i think...

I've just done the update, just to see how it went, I'm thinking I'll do a full clean install once the ISO's are available.

Out of interest how do you know when it's downloading? I've got the icon on my defiance, and clicked to reserve it a few days ago. But nothing appears to be happening today...

You might have to wait a bit, as Windows Insiders/MSDN Subcribers will get the upgrade first, as far as I've heard. Otherwise also keep in mind that if you have a slow connection, it might take a while to download the upgrade. So don't turn off your PC

If you are not doing the clean install, but doing the upgrade there is a few things you can do before upgrading, to avoid potential issues:
->Uninstall your security product
->Uninstall your display drivers (You will need seperate display drivers for Win10)
->Uninstall any apps you know is not supported by Win10
->Make sure you have 20GB of free disk space
->Disconnect any unnecessary devices, like USB devices
->Worst case scenario: Backup of any important data/document/save games you might have lying around.
EDIT: Most security products doesn't have support for Win10 yet. Keep that in mind when upgrading.

I would support all that, those are the steps I took before upgrading and so far have had no issues.
Yes, they're doing a fragmented upgrade, first to the insider previews, then general oem and retail keys.
Upgraded but now want to install fresh. I copied and pasted my product key which I found, but when I typed it into the product key activation box on fresh installation it said the key wasn't valid.
Any know how to find out your actual windows 10 product key to do a fresh install??

Clean install took less than 10 minutes, via USB. I am running RAID-0 on 2xIntel 520 SSDs though, but still, that's pretty impressive. I still remember the dreaded Windows 98 installation which could take over an hour
GUI is 10x better than windows 8. I really like it.
Otherwise, there are a few annoyances about Microsoft edge, that caused me to install chrome again. But all in all, this runs like a charm. Installed on my Clevo p170em/Vortex-3. The only driver Win10 didn't have from stock was the Realtek Card reader driver, but those can easily be located on the interwebz. Else it actually installed both the newest Intel driver + newest AMD driver automatically.

I have a Windows 7 Enterprise Key, that worked fine for activation.
It seems a few people have reported issues with activating Windows after the upgrade, as there is some confusion about how to get the key after the upgrade, and how to do a clean install. I suggest you watch the technet forums over the coming days, I'm sure you'll find the solution in there somewhere

I've been playing around with it for a while now and everything just seems to work, including my previously installed programs on windows 7.
I even booted up StarCraft II for a quick run and it ran flawlessly - maybe even better than it did on windows 7!
I really love the interface, so much more user friendly than 8, and some nice new features too.
Overall I'm really impressed with it, and will definitely be sticking with it, unlike windows 8.
Anyway, just wanted to share my experience with you here, for anyone that was nervous about using the 'upgrade' route - it actually works really well (at least in my case)! :winkiss:

Must say, my upgrade experience is surprisingly good so far also, I'm a bit taken aback. Until they sort out the keys scenario I'll stay with the upgrade as it seems pretty sturdy.
Well that pi55es me right off then. You get an activation going when you had a pirated windows 7 yet I've got a genuine windows 7 version and my windows 10 won't activate. It was activated earlier when I upgraded. Then I stupidly did a fresh install and it wouldn't activate. So then I reinstall windows 7, activate that, upgrade to windows 10 again and now it won't even bloody activate with an upgrade.
