Who Else Is Upgrading To Windows 10?

I've had another battle with it this morning (that's the benefit of taking disk images, going back to 8.1 is a breeze). I've found, by following something I read on here I think, that by rolling back the failed drivers one at a time and rebooting I can get Windows Update to install the drivers one at a time with a reboot after each and that seems to work. The Intel driver update utility found a Bluetooth driver that Windows Update didn't.

No chipset driver at all, either via Windows update or through the Intel driver update utility (it is an Intel board on the W35_37ET Optimus IV) and I agree that this may well be the root of all issues. On a previous attempt I did install the Win 8 chipset driver from the Clevo site and it made not a scrap of difference to anything.

I only have two issues now: the non-functioning card reader, no better driver than the Windows Update one seems to exist, at least not one from a source I trust, and the occasional mouse pointer freeze when the system is busy. Both would seem to be chipset related. It's strange that the driver update utility finds no new drivers though....

Let's see how this install goes for a while.

Just had a look at the W35_37ET. That also uses the HM77 chipset/C216. I'm currently using this driver: http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/intel-chipset-software-installation-10-1-2-8-whql-download.html - For some reason, I can't find this on the Intel website, but that's the one I'm using right now.

Dunno which card reader you have in your system, it seems there are a few. If you are using the Realtek one with the following PCI-ID: PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_5289&SUBSYS_71021558&REV_01\4&1ED66D40&0&00E1 you can fetch the driver here: http://www.realtek.com.tw/Downloads...=25&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false

Currently using this Intel Management interface driver: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25095/Intel-ME-11-Management-Engine-Driver-for-Intel-NUC

Many thanks for your efforts, sadly they came to nought. I downloaded your suggested chipset driver and MEI driver, I had already found the Realtek card driver but it didn;t work. I did a clean install from DVD and installed the chipset, MEI and card drivers and then let WIndows update try for the rest.

No joy, in fact no change at all. I suspect that chipset driver is not suited to my motherboard. Ah well, I'll give it 6 months and then come back and have another look.

Thanks for the help!
