Thank you for your response. I've watched alot of yt videos following this game. Especialy the YouTuber cobra. The visuals in this game are just amazing.
Just wasn't sure if it was worth buying in to. I partly agree with not paying when its not even finished. But then I think well look at games...
Has anyone here played/playing this game.
Is it worth a try or give it a wide birth. Heard alot of varying opinions from its the "greatest gaming experience ever nothing comes close" to the "don't waste your time its a con"
But thats the prob the OP wants to upgrade further down the line and doesn't know for certain what monitor he's getting.
So to me it makes perfect sense to get the 3080. Yes he would do well to get 3070 but overall the 3080 is just the better option in my opinion.
So your saying faster bandwidth memory doesn't matter?
Also if your saying you should always pair your gpu with monitor you are basically telling the OP he shouldn't be getting the 30series as the monitor he currently has is 66mhz 1080p.
Cuda cores, faster bandwidth memory etc Byte size tech did the maths.

Agreed I said 3080 for the two reasons that OP hasn't set eyes on a future monitor yet, so would give wiggle room if he said actually I can afford to get 4k 120hz ultrawide (kinda future proofing).
Also in terms of value for money its the better card. But yes 3070 more than fine.
And totally...
Ok let's just agree to disagree as this back and forth is not helping the OP.👍🏽
He has the information now with reasons to back up. Whatever he decides.
I've also not anywhere in this post recommended him to buy two cards.
I don't know how to make this anymore clearer than. Get either the 3070 0r 3080.
Correction i read your post again i have made a mistake in my first sentence. Apologies.
I also get what you are saying as regards for getting...
I also never mentioned he should get a 2080 super. It was the OP who bought it up.
To make it perfectly clear I would only recommend to go for 3070 or 3080. Even if the OP doesn't want to wait and wants to get a 20series as I would hate for him to get buyers remorse.
You will have to speak to somone with
expertise on this. I think 3070 is more than fine. But value for money wise (as what you get for the card 3080 is better)
Byte size tech explains it perfectly as to why you should choose 3080 over the 3070 if you have the money.
But agree with @sibun1...
Yes maybe for the monitor he has now.
OP clearly states he's thinking of upgrading in future.
Are you saying buy that gpu now. Then upgrade your monitor and then another gpu?
Its available on the 29th.
From what I've been reading up on Is that Nvidea has already started shipping these out so suppliers are already stocked and not the same debacle of the 3080.
Again there's no certainty unless PCS tells you they have them in stock. This is only from what I've been...
