    PCSPECIALIST Change of Username

We can only edit the Titles as far as I know. The username change is likely down to a time factor or a minimum posting rule. On the previous style/layout it was only Mods/Admins that could change usernames.

PCSPECIALIST Black Friday Deals - 2024

Think we have had a few of these in the past to highlight offers and anything that people are after. I'm looking for a 2TB M2 drive for my PS5. Hoping for the WD SN850X, so just keeping an eye on pricing. Anyone else looking to burn some money? 😬

PCSPECIALIST I need help -CPU is trying to destroy itself.

I would check the settings of the cooler. As much as ramping up to 95C isn't bad for the CPU, it sounds a little quick to get there. If the cooler is on "Quiet" mode then it's going to under-perform for when the system us under load. Ideally you want to have it on standard for general use and...

PCSPECIALIST Spec Check for a Newbie Please & TIA

Are you looking to buy straight away? The reason I ask is that it's expected for the higher end X3D chips to be released in January. The X3D chips offer quite a lot when it comes to Microsoft Flight Simulator. If you're opting for the 2024 version then it's likely even more relevant. Even the...

PCSPECIALIST Ryzen 7 9800X3D next month?

They played with fire, that's for sure. I'm pretty sure Joe is a relative of Bert Kibbler though.

PCSPECIALIST Ryzen 7 9800X3D next month?

Watched a bit live last night. They missed out LN2 mode for a while which caused some delays. Not quite the heights of MSI, but this was a bone stock retail version they estimate. The voltages weren't even that high IMO.

    PCSPECIALIST Flight Simulator 2024

Not really any need to worry about that in honesty. It just needs configured. The OS drive doesn't matter as long as it's configured correctly. I have a dedicated FS2020 drive and the first time I installed it, the OS drive was HUGE but that was down to the fact that in the settings, the cache...

    PCSPECIALIST Flight Simulator 2024

Getting close now. Obviously wait until it's out but the multi-thread performance seems to be here at last. It's still going to be a torture test for any PC but at least if you're using some cores it may make the larger CPUs worth a punt. From reading around you absolutely don't need any more...

PCSPECIALIST Ryzen 7 9800X3D next month?

The price is the only thing that might make it a bit of a stretch, but the 7600X3D has recently released and the 7800X3Ds are starting to crop up again. Where the 9800X3D is unattainable due to cost, the 7600X3D should slot in nicely. I think I would easily have that over a 9700X or any of the...

PCSPECIALIST Ryzen 7 9800X3D next month?

Is it not amazing how one good release from a manufacturer can almost wipe the slate clean. The ropey AM5 release is all forgiven with the X3D results :ROFLMAO: I hope they didn't make too many of the non-x3D chips though

PCSPECIALIST Ryzen 7 9800X3D next month?

I was going to suggest 7Ghz might be doable but I didn't want to jinx it. 7.24Ghz is absolutely wild :ROFLMAO:

PCSPECIALIST Ryzen 7 9800X3D next month?

Derbauer hit a 5.6Ghz with a sloppy OC. Granted he delidded with some liquid metal for a good transfer, but it's easy got 5.8 in it IMO with a fine tune on an AIO with a delid & liquid metal in place. I would be amazed if it didn't smash past 6ghz on LN. As always, there will be a hard ceiling...

PCSPECIALIST Ryzen 7 9800X3D next month?

That's a really impressive jump. It's not even a good OC in honesty, even using PBO with the right settings you can do better than that. I get 5.4Ghz from my 7800X3D without anything crazy on the settings (PBO & Curve). He could have taken that way further. With a memory tweak it would offer a...

PCSPECIALIST Ryzen 7 9800X3D next month?

I can't see the chip coming down in price anytime soon. I think it'll only reduce once the 9950X3D is out. Like most I'm hoping it's going to be dual CCD with 3D cache and unlocked. If they manage that, it'll be the ultimate have it all chip...... especially with the 9700X vs 9800X3D results...

PCSPECIALIST Ryzen 7 9800X3D next month?

As soon as the embargo lifts they're typically ready to go. You can post up a build minus the CPU though, just select the 9700X as a place holder.

PCSPECIALIST Do you think they'll approve my RMA request?

I think there's a lot of misinterpretation over text so I wouldn't do anything until you have either a discussion with PCS over the phone or a face to face. I'm worried that what I'm saying is being misunderstood and would lead to issues. What I meant was that the pin had me confused in...

PCSPECIALIST Do you think they'll approve my RMA request?

The pin definitely had me confused. Unfortunately it is pretty easy to pull out as all the other instructions have shown in the past. The aim would be to get the laptop in a comfortable position and not move it while in use. Switch the unit off if you wanted to use disconnected. With the BSOD...

PCSPECIALIST Do you think they'll approve my RMA request?

When you were pushing into the cooling unit it appeared that you never aligned the holes properly. Most likely down to using one hand. Can you try it properly with one hole in one side and show if there is a variance with the alignment of the second hole. In the video guide at 55 minutes in you...
