Sorry for the double tap post. I don't think its the BIOS I think the problem is being caused by the way you are trying to install W11.
That being said I personally will not be installing Windows 11 for a long time.
If you need any more help stick another message in here.
Also just a minor request. If you get troubleshooting help on the forum in the future, and the fault you are troubleshooting has relevant RMA history, pleaseeeeeee tells us at the start ;).
I think it's more likely that there was a conflict between the W10 CC and your W11 install which caused the problem but either way it would appear you are going to need another BIOS flash.
Funnily enough this is something PCS will probably let you do if you contact them. They will provide you...
If you go into your PCS account and click on My Returns > Track Returns you can see all your RMA's. Click on the one relevant to your CPU speeds and read the report.
The fact they didn't do a clean install is puzzling so it would be good to know exactly what they did.
There will be a fault...
Ok I have a couple of questions:
1. Each time you updated to W11 did you upgrade through W10 or did you perform a clean install? I.E. install through USB pen and run updates like previously specified?
2. When you sent back the laptop for RMA what did the engineers notes say on your RMA ticket...
Ok can we just unpack this a bit for clarity.
So you installed W11 and installed which version of CC? And when you had that version of CC installed on W11 your CPU worked fine, it wasn't until you uninstalled it that problems started?
You have already RMA'd the laptop for this issue and PCS...
Before you do that can you try to manually install the AMD chipset driver from your W10 download section. Restart your PC and see it makes a difference.
Yes we do OP posted a screenshot from his W10 download section. He is using the Windows 10 version of CC. This is of course unless PCS have uploaded the wrong version of CC to his W10 download section between him installing Windows 11 and trying to revert back.
I know we don't agree but I...
I appreciate its not apples for apples but I personally still don't think it's overheating.
I really cannot see bad paste causing throttling that aggressive, Not over such a short period of time any way.
I am also concerned that all of the CPU customisation options are missing from the new...
In my opinion bad thermal paste would not cause the CPU to throttle to the point of locking to 400MHz. I think the W11 install of CC has either gimped the hardware or it has directly written somthing to the BIOS.
I also don't think it is overheating having 8 cores running 100% at 400MHz will...
I actually think you may be right, either that or the version of CC you installed is bugged and it has damaged your hardware, although I have no evidence to back it up. Even before Windows is configured your CPU should be running much higher than that.
I would advise you finish all the...
So the image of windows update you have posted has loads of updates left to install. Have you let them install yet? They need to all be installed before you do anything else.
Can you expand the Display Adapters and show us what is in there?
You need to reinstall Windows 10 from a USB. When you do this you need to make sure you delete all partitions from the drive you are installing too so that it is a clean install.
Then you need to run Windows update continuously until all updates are installed. Including optional updates.
At...
Right that's interesting I didn't know the W11 version of CC had been released yet. It does sound like @SpyderTracks is correct and Windows isnt correctly configured.
I am pretty sure that TongFang control canter is currently not compatible with Windows 11 which would explain the problem. Cant remember where I read that though.
