    PCSPECIALIST PC upgrade advice

You’ve already been advised in this thread about upgrades, so I don’t suppose they’ve changed. How much would all those cost?

PCSPECIALIST Does anyone know the cl rating of my ram as pc specialist doesn't specify this build is for 4k/1440p 1440p in games that I can't run 60fps high settin

Any reason you’ve gone for a micro ATX motherboard in an ATX build? Was it because it was cheap? There are a number of issues with that build. I’d definitely get some advice before ordering.

It makes me irrationally angry when I see stuff like this. :ROFLMAO: Surely, SURELY, no-one is that stupid?!

    PCSPECIALIST PC not turning on

When you ordered, what was the specified power consumption? A 250W PSU feels incredibly low, even for those components. It may not be the issue, but the motherboard and CPU must take up half that wattage.

    PCSPECIALIST PC not turning on

At the risk of asking a stupid question, have you turned the power supply on at the back of your case?

    PCSPECIALIST Sales advice needed

I’m a bit of a snob when it comes to coolers. You’ll see a lot of low-end machines, and even some mid-range, with air coolers, but my question is always “why would you?” From an aesthetics point of view, you can’t beat an AIO, especially these days when they look so good. As for choosing the...

PCSPECIALIST I Changed my intel build to an AMD one instead.

Fantastic build that and not far off what I'd be looking at if I were buying today.

    PCSPECIALIST Am I overdoing it?

Worth noting that the monitor you mentioned is a 1080p output so will either need upgrading or the GPU listed above will need downgrading.

    PCSPECIALIST Am I overdoing it?

For me, liquid cooling is for enthusiasts. For the most part, it’s overkill for the vast majority of people. You’re right though, it can look great. AIO’s are generally the way people go, especially with a budget like yours, and are most than enough for the average user, but especially if you...

    PCSPECIALIST Am I overdoing it?

Any reason why you’ve gone for the liquid cooling option? By your own admission you’re “as naive as they come” and liquid cooling requires maintenance once a year. Will you be able to check for leaks, refill the reservoir etc? If the answer is no, steer clear of a liquid cooled system in my...

PCSPECIALIST I Changed my intel build to an AMD one instead.

Whatever you do, do not, under any circumstances, go for an Intel CPU. It’s just not worth the risk. There are a couple of minor alterations that could be made to the above build. Could you post the full specs including the configuration link? It makes it easier to make changes. What’s your...

Great wok Homer. Losing weight is TOUGH, especially if you’re doing it healthily, so this is a great achievement.

PCSPECIALIST What PC should I go for?

I can't remember the last time I thought about a CRT monitor, let alone heard about someone actually USING one. I'm not sure how we went from " I don't really have a budget as such, I can spend whatever is necessary" to a budget of £1,500. That was almost a bigger surprise than the monitor.
