    PCSPECIALIST Local Delicacies

Being born and raised in Southampton, I always reckoned the North began at Winchester, the West at Bournemouth and the East at Fareham. If you think that is parochial, you should come to Aberdeen. Some ex-colleagues would start to bleed from their eyes and ears if they travelled south of the...

    PCSPECIALIST Local Delicacies

Sausages and bacon are worth spending on to get quality. Square sausage seems to be made with all the bits that get rejected for use in normal sausages. Having lived in Scotland for almost half my life, I have tried it but won’t be rushing back. Scotch pies can be good, bad or just odd. I will...

You are very unlikely to need 64GB of RAM. FS2020 does justify 32GB.

PCSPECIALIST A quiet PC for gaming for years to come

AMD beat Intel in almost all situations, especially 11th Gen Intel. https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/forums/threads/amd-vs-intel.72675/ I would go for a Corsair All In One (AIO) cooler, such as the H100/115/150 Elite Capellix or Pro XT over a liquid series, which will need ongoing maintenance...

PCSPECIALIST Gaming PC - First Build

The slower m.2 SSD has a read speed of 3500 against a SATA SSD of about 560, so probably 6.5x the speed of the SSD and 20x a fast HDD.

    PCSPECIALIST Advice/approval on this spec?

The 5800x needs good cooling. That means a case with good airflow and a good AIO cooler. Most on here would not recommend the own brand cases and coolers, especially for the 5800x. While it is nice to have a good looking case, it is vital to ensure that the case keeps the contents cool. If you...

    PCSPECIALIST Advice/approval on this spec?

For your budget, I would go with something like this. The 3060 is on ore-order, but so are most NVidia graphics cards. I would get a 1440p monitor elsewhere. Case CORSAIR iCUE 5000X RGB MID TOWER GAMING CASE Processor (CPU) AMD Ryzen 7 5800X Eight Core CPU (3.8GHz-4.7GHz/36MB CACHE/AM4)...

    PCSPECIALIST Advice/approval on this spec?

https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/forums/threads/amd-vs-intel.72675/ I would read the information at this link. AMD beat Intel in almost all scenarios. Once you have done that we can address case, motherboard, GPU (overkill for selected monitor), cooling, PSU, etc. What is your budget for PC and...

PCSPECIALIST gaming pc. Is it good ?

The ASUS Dual 3070 is available now. Yesterday it was about £79 more than the mythical standard 3070 but much cheaper than a 3080.

PCSPECIALIST How smart is your home?

All my lights are set to turn on and off when I operate the appropriate light switch (or when the over-sensitive circuit breaker trips). I find that this works very well and I only need to illuminate rooms that have occupants.

PCSPECIALIST How smart is your home?

My house is as thick as it can get. However, my cat is quite smart. I can speak to it to set directions on the satnav, play music on Spotify or phone home. Annoyingly it also tries to set up Alexa and or sometimes randomly thinks I am speaking to Amazon.
