    PCSPECIALIST Ryzen 9 5900X/Geforce 3080 TI vs Ryzen 9 5950X/Geforce 3090

For photo editing you will likely see little if any benefit from either the 5950X or 3090. There may be some small improvements (<<10%) in speed for video editing, but whether those are worth the extra cost is a different question.

PCSPECIALIST Help to build my gamer pc please

Does a 5950x offer any appreciable performance increase for gaming over the 5900x? Like the 3090, this appears to be spending money for little, if any, reason.

    PCSPECIALIST Opinions on this build?

A £3k budget deserves 1440p rather than 1080p at the very least. You should be able to achieve this and include a good 1440p monitor within the budget.

    PCSPECIALIST Does this look good?

Any reason for the ASUS dual 3060? Going for the standard 3060 will save a bit.

PCSPECIALIST PC for heavy work with Photoshop

Photoshop is more dependent on CPU than GPU currently, so you could save some money here.

    PCSPECIALIST Make sense or not?

Something like this is what I would recommend. You may find you need 32GB RAM for Photoshop, but that can always be added to. Case COOLERMASTER MASTERBOX TD500 MESH ARGB GAMING CASE Processor (CPU) AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Six Core CPU (3.7GHz-4.6GHz/35MB CACHE/AM4) Motherboard ASUS® TUF GAMING...

PCSPECIALIST Is this a good gaming PC build?

The CPU, storage, PSU and cooling are far from ideal. The WiFi card is old technology and is better replaced with the AX200. Silver warranty is worth an extra £5. Bullguard is best removed, as it has been reported to cause problems. The vast majority of people cannot see the difference in...

PCSPECIALIST Wonder what they sell here............

One of the lesser known distilleries. My go to whiskies all originate on Islay, although I once had a bottle of single cask Brora (cask strength), which also had a good amount of peaty smokiness. The distillery closed down in the 1980s, so it was a rare bottle. Brora distillery has now...

PCSPECIALIST Software Engineering and Gaming Build (~£3k Budget)

That is a beast of a build, The Ironwolf HDDs are meant for servers and are very noisy. If you need that much storage, I would go for 2x3TB Barracudas (the larger ones are only 5400 rpm). Ryzen likes fast RAM, so 3200MHz is really the minimum speed. I have changed the case to get a bigger...

PCSPECIALIST Motherboard 5 beeps when monitor plugged into Dock

How do you switch between different inputs on your Kensington dock? It could be that the dock doesn’t detect a graphics signal from the PC, so has not selected that. Certain ASUS motherboards have a feature that expects a return signal from the monitor to the GPU and report a GPU error if this...

    PCSPECIALIST Lockdown - What's Worth a Watch?

I assume you mean the original series of the Twilight Zone. They were often repeated late at night on BBC2. If you like that, you would probably also enjoy the Outer Limits from the early 1960s.

PCSPECIALIST 1st Gaming PC Build Help

The link isn't for your build, but just to a generic configurator. A 5600X build would be superior to a 10th or 11th generation Intel alternative. This still needs some changes, though.

PCSPECIALIST High-end PC Parts Check (i9-12900K, RTX 3090)

Haven't there been some issues with 12th Gen Intel chips running on W10? Perhaps W11 would be better, although that is still new and has bugs that need addressing. It is brave being an early adopter on 12th Gen Intel, DDR5 and W11 all at the same time.
