Only problem with a complaint about a delivery company is that the PCS boxes will have been handled by more then one person. Someone will pick it up from PCS, leave it at a depot, it'll then be taken in one lorry to a main hub, from which a different lorry will then take it to a local depot, from which it will be picked up by the final delivery man. So there's atleast 4 different people handling the box, and that does not include any workers at the 2+ depots moving it around within the building. There's 4 delivery guys, one pick up, one drop off, two+ lorries and then added staff at depots. Who dropped the box? No-one will take the blame. It'll be impossible to track who did what since they don't do reports how the package state between each hand over.

It'd take thousands of complaints to find out if there's one of those 4+ people that come up in more complaints then others.

If you see a delivery driver badly handling, dropping your parcel, or if the parcel is delievered to a neighbour despite a clear label on the box, then this is down to the driver alone. But either way, you say itll take thousands of complaints, however noone bothers writing proper formal complaints these days, phone calls wont do, write a letter and state in the letter that you expect a written reply detailing what has been done to resolve the problem.

If I saw the delivery driver dropping my box like a knob, I'd drop him. He damages my property, I'll damage his. But, thankfully, mine was recieved in a pristine condition :)

But ye, written complaints are the only ones taken seriously, since phonecalls will never be passed to the managers whom matter. They're too "busy" to take phonecalls of complaining customers. Letters can't be ignored. If I was in OP's situation, I'd probably do as you say and write a official complaint letter to the head office, with the tracking number they should be able to see which driver(s) were involved since you sign one of those stupid hand held thingies which you can never write a proper signature on. Pretty sure the driver "logs in" on it.

Im actually getting sick of all this yodel is crap talk, ive never had a problem with them and so have thousands of other deliveries per day. Yes there are a few crap drivers, but same can be said for any company, there will always be **** employees who cut corners because they cant be bothered. This is just a fact of life.

Rather than just a general complaint, why not take some initiative (this isnt aimed at you onlynik, its aimed at anyone complaining about the service they recieved) take down the numberoplate and time of delivery and then write a formal letter of complaint to Yodel with the precise details of what happened. Its not in Yodels interest to have bad drivers and so I am sure if you put in a proper complaint they will want to do whatever they can to sort out that particular driver.

With each parcel delivered the drivers name and number is attached to the parcel, and if the software they use is anygood Each parcel with its cosignment no. would be updated on the system with the driver who delivered it...well thats how I would devise a programme anyway. Its not always practical to hang around and take the above details.

I have just logged a complaint myself with them, though the lady on the other end of the phone was not helpful in the slighest, was'nt even going to listen, but after a certain tone was adopted she listened, then I have failed a complaint through email, though you are only limited to 200 characters.

How long does it take to read a numberplate outside your front door?

Always complain offocially by letter, means u can write as much as you want and you can request they respond to you, rather than email where you are probably one of many emails coming in hourly and probably just ignored in a lot of cases.

My new pc dispatched today and I keep hearing negative things about YODEL .. and now im really worried :\

For every one comment you see on the internet complainign about bad service, theres thousands of happy customers who havent posted. People hardly ever post anythign but complaints, because they dont see the point.

Very true - you've got to take into consideration that for every bad experience there are probably 99 others that went just fine...

Statistically I think its for every 1 bad experience, there are 98 that went just fine...the odd one is an unexplained enigma wrapped in a paradox coated in conundrum-infused paint...wrapped in clingfilm :)

Don't be worried.
I had a flawless experience with Yodel. When I got home my partner had signed for the PC, and I had a look at the box from every angle and it was hardly touched, only thing I could notice was a bit of dust at the bottom where it'd obviously been standing in the van/depot floor.

The poor delivery guy even struggled with it, but even though my PC is so DAMN heavy, he apparently did his very best to keep it away from anything, even opened the gate at the front of our house with his back, didn't just wack it open with the box.

So ye, Yodel did a great service for me. Don't worry mate.

And DED...

That's just your own sexual fantasy that.

SURELY it IS PCS's fault as they choose to still use that courier company after all these complaints I see.

especially about the one where the man came up to the door and dropped the box from 1 foot.

I've said it before and I will say it again, some MONKEY courier had better not screw with my PC.

Think this has been said a good few times before. I'm not 100% sure about the number, but PCS are now on their 4th or so delivery company. They've changed so many times before, there's not many others to go with. And at the end of the day, every single delivery company will have bad drivers, or good drivers whom have had a bad day. And I'm not saying it's right, but sometimes **** happens, knock your elbow on the side of the van when you're trying your best to carry something seriously heavy, you knock your funny bone and you drop one side of the box.

People need to keep in mind that as so many people have said already, there's something like 1 bad delivery for every 100 that gets delivered. So there's a 1% chance of your delivery being dropped/misshandled. That's pretty darn good.

PCS have also stated many times on here that Yodel is their 3rd courier (in total?), so do change, but cannot change courier every time someone has a bad experience.

The solution, as many have said, is to complain to Yodel, and indeed complain to PCS so they can lay into Yodel on your behalf.

This will hopefuly improve the service Yodel provide, instead of chopping and changing courier every 6 months :)

orrr

what ^^ he said :D

I understand what you guys are saying and hopefully you guys understand that I am not calling out PCS for failing to deliver in any shape or form.

I was unaware they changed so many times and also that there will not be a 100% perfect courier company but dammit could those companies do more, like on undercover boss? get someone who is posing as an apprentice to go on deliveries and get an insight

or they could do regular checks, hey maybe I should start filming this and put it on channel 4 xD

That's the thing, people don't generally post here to say Yodel have given a good service, although there are a few people in this very thread who have confirmed their PC's were delivered perfectly fine.

I guess every month someone should post a baity fake post about a false bad experience,

then you would get the backup from people who have had good experiences, is that really what it would take? I'm assuming yes, which is sad!

now I have the bad feeling of knocking my funny bone, hate that pan!

Fact is mate, if a customer recieved their product in the way they're expecting it, 100% perfect and working great, then they'll just be happy with what they've recieved and start using it, they will not give a thought about writing a good review. I wrote a review a few weeks ago when I got mine, and I had nothing but praise to give, I thought I owed PCS and the forum community here that much.

PCS gave me a perfect service, and so did Yodel.

How many bad Yodel reviews have you read on the forum? 2? 5? 10? Well even if it's something like 10 in the last two months, PCS will have sent out hundreds of PC's in the last two months. All those people you haven't heard anything about, have been happy with what they're recieved, ontop of that, most people do not create a forum account. I'd go as far as to say the forum community you see here is likely less then 5% of the PCS customers.

PS: DED is stalking me :(
