Wifi is super slow on my PC

I just checked if my antennae if they were probably connected and screwed on and they are probably connected so I don't think it's the antennae, but I will try and take they off. I think I might do a network restart first, see if that fixes the problem.

I'm having the same issue with the slow wifi, with the PC I got on Friday
I was connected to the 5Ghz network, but I was getting an average of 3.72mbps, but with my phone in the exact same spot I was getting 116.32mbps.

I read several posts over the weekend and did some of the suggested things, like:
- Uninstall and install the driver (I downloaded directly from Intel)
- Remove the card and checked the bios > advanced > onboard devices, but I couldn't find an indication of what could be the motherboard wifi card to enable it.
- Antennas are connected

I feel that is slightly better since I reinstalled the driver - I can connect to the 2GHz network, speed around 26mbps not great anyway, but the connection to the 5GHz network is very unstable, most of the times it's not even showing up in the list of networks and, when it does, I get latency error.

I'm not far from the router, only one room apart - although the door between is tick, its open. But nonetheless, I can connect to the wifi in the second floor of the house, so the signal strength is not an issue. I moved the PC to the living room, a few centimetres from the router and the speed was great (300mbps+) and when connected in the cable as well (900mbps+).

Brought the PC back to the room and the speed was capped by a great margin. I don't see any other solution then finding a better location for the PC perhaps, but I feel that the quality/reception of my antennas aren't great.

Note: I don't have Bullguard installed and this is my spec.

Can you take the antennae off and test the speed. Yours sound like a bit more of an issue, if you are getting 3mbps from a possible 900

I was getting 3mb before reinstalling the driver.

The order since the beginning (more or less) was
- Getting 3mb
- Removed and connected the antennas.
- Re-installed the driver and re-connected the card (not necessarily in this order)
- Removed and connected the antennas
- Could connect to the 2Ghz network, but 5Ghz network wasn't stable (either not connecting or having latency issues)

- This morning, to have more info before posting here, I brought to the living room to check the wifi there and also cabled to see if the problem was with the signal or with the card/antenna. Which I know now the signal is great while I'm there.

- I then brought the PC back to the room and it's holding a stable connection to the 5Ghz network so far...I get around 50 to 60mb.
Which to be fair, is the same speed I get on my Dell laptop (I get up to 150mb+ when checking on the MacBook though)

I'm aware of the fact that my walls are holding a lot of the signal but I'd have thought that the antennas were made exclusively to improve the signal.

I personally use router relay hubs and have a wired connection off one of those, i find it much better. You unfortunately sound like you’re in a bit of a deadspot zone in your house 😅

I think I have a Netgear extender somewhere. I will try to find it and get a wired connection from it as well. It can't get worse I suppose haha

And I agree on the deadspot 😆
