If I were you i would switch that primary drive to a 500GB Samsung 970. You don't need 1Tb for the OS drive. The only thing that should be on it is the OS. the 970 is also a faster drive.
No problems, happy to help.
What games do you play?
Your budget basically locks you into a laptop with a resolution of 1920x1080. At that resolution a RTX 3060 will be an absolute beast. You do not need anything more. If we were looking at laptops with a resolution of 2560x1440p I would say...
My recommendation would be for you to save up some more money so that you can get a 1440p build as 1080p is pretty old hat these days. If that isn't an option though the build I have posted below will be will be an incredibly strong 1080p gaming rig.
I personally do not rate the Destian or...
After using Windows 11 on my backup for a number of weeks, I was so impressed that I decided to upgrade my Valeon to 11.
At this point I made the first school boy error. I performed a clean install of W11 without checking I had Windows 11 drivers and control software in the download section of...
Ok so in that case if you are running CPU heavy workloads and that is the most important factor then the Destian probably is not a bad shout for you.
As to whether you should go 12700K or 5900X there is not much in it and your answer probably depends on what your workloads are.
Here is a...
@bharvey92 just a side note, depending on your use case and budget there are probably much wiser choices than the Destian.
For my money sticking either a 5900X or 12700 in a 15 inch 1080p DTR with at best a RTX 3070 makes very little sense. Especially as a 1440p 3080 laptop with similar specs...
Just out of interest are you always testing this with the same game?
If so have you added it to the nvidia whitelist?
The two screen shots you have posted, to me possibly suggest the game is being run off of your iGPU instead of your Nvidia card. This would explain the poor performance...
On top of what @SpyderTracks has already asked can you also open up Task Manager and take a screen shot of the processes page. Make sure you sort it by Total Processor Utilisation, highest to lowest. Then post the image here.
Yeh to be honest I haven't actually found a game yet where I would use DLSS. In CyberPunk I had it set to the highest quality and even then it feels grainy to me.
What impresses me about AMD's tech (apart from it is fully implemented through software) is I can't actually tell the difference...
I have decided to start a new game after putting it down just after release, and I am really, really enjoying the game. I am not just enjoying the story either, it feels much, much smoother and night city feels far more natural. The way the NPC's used to walk around and interact before, on the...
