Got mine AT 1615 which was ideal as everyone was at home. Super happy with PCS and DPD for getting it here.

Just like to confirm that package arrived within the delivery window this morning. Have been itching to get home ever since to open it up. My daughter (3 years old) has already asked if she can have the box!

Mine had to be prised from my grasp...and that was only after a year!

Not too happy with dpd, was expecting my laptop to come on thursday around 2-4 o'clock. So took a day off work since i need this before i go back down to halls in london, waited whole day just to see them text me 'unable to deliver due to no one to sign the order'. Ok, fair enough. Maybe i didnt hear them knock, but funny thing is there was no card or anything saying i missed them. Go back on the website to check for redelivery.
So i set delivery for today expected them at 4-7. So I took off early from work to get back waited all day, still nothing. No texts or emails this time, so i checked the website saying it was unable to be delivered? So now i've had to rebook my train because i have to wait for my laptop to arrive. Not the best service...

still waiting on my delivery
they gave me a delivery window yesterday of 8:26 - 9:26pm, kinda a pity they CLOSED at 9pm...........
it arrived in aberdeen at 9am, got on the van at 1pm and apparently wandered aimlessly for 8 hours just to return to depot with my laptop
they didn't even try to contact me to get directions or even update me on current happenings (I only found out it was back at depot by looking it up online)

I honestly don't know why such a great company like PCS uses such a shoddy delivery company (this isn't my first DPD fail delivery) and I pity anyone who also lives in the country expecting their pc on time

No fault to PCS of course - just DPD is a disgrace to delivery companies (royal mail could do better)

I wouldn't be too concerned, DPD should update their tracking site tonight or tomorrow and you can track the package's progress through their system.

I'm really not having any good fortune with DPD it seems. After my initial delivery was a failure, I received my PC today, and I eagerly opened the box, only to find the front of the case was broken and unusable. All the pegs that hold the front of the case in have snapped off (Most, if not all anyway), the front of the case is also dented, and the side panel doesn't seat correctly due to denting. The box that my machine arrived in was also damaged (Looks like it has been kicked). PCS are sorting the issues for me, but my view of DPD as a whole are terrible!

if you can stomach it watch this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5YIbOf8Uv-4

just shows how some (gotta emphasise the some) DPD drivers see their job - in it for the money and not for caring about anyones stuff

Thankfully there are DPD drivers who do care, like the one who delivered my laptop the second time it was sent out - on time and in perfect condition, rather than the one who went home early and didn't deliver in my designated time slot (even if it was scheduled for after DPD hours)

You can clearly tell that those boxes are just paper or something very light by the way they bounce, a laptop would not bounce like that and wouldn't be open at the top of the box

It was meant to be an example but I see your point

It was meant to point out the driver not caring when throwing them (what if one of those boxes had a glass present in it for instance) and not to point out what "could" happen to a laptop, besides some of DPDs deliverys from PCS have been damaged because of DPD for whatever reason.

As i've said in a previous post in this thread - I don't know why PCS uses DPD, RoyalMail takes more care, and haven't ever messed up a delivery (might be slower but its more reliable and for me reliability is more important than speed)

Not a big fan of DPD, they have failed to deliver to my address on various occasions and couldn't be bothered to phone to get directions. Currently on second RMA from PC Specialist, new RMA had HDD case bent and no POST again. They seriously must just throw everything into the back of their vans with force.

Besides costing companies money, wasting my time it has a knock on effect. I really wish we could pay a premium and choose our own couriers as I have absolutely no faith in these.

Now there's an idea, although I am not sure the delivery costs would be much to our liking. I suspect PCS get better rates because of the account they hold, rather than each individual item being shipped by our own personal favourite courier (I would choose Royal Mail too - they seem far more accountable than the others) but I bet there are others here who wouldn't touch them.

Citylink are the worst in my experience. When they don't deliver, the lies are breathtaking. One one occasion, as 'proof' they tried to deliver something, and after waiting in all day long, they told me I had a white door (it's a blue door); they have NEVER left a card saying they had been (because they obviously hadn't), and one item (a camera) from Amazon was actually 'out on the van' for five days, which order I duly cancelled without waiting. eBuyer used them in the past (not sure about now) and I emailed eBuyer telling them I would not order any more goods from them if they continued to use Citylink for my deliveries (I doubt it had much effect but it made me happy!) It is apparently down to the individual Citylink depots because other people have reported 100% first class service (someone in Wales and another in Scotland I think it was).

I ordered my rig from PCS (last Friday) so it will be interesting to report my experience in this forum. Some reports on here have been shaky and worrying; let's hope I can report otherwise. I can guarantee I shall sign the package as 'Unchecked' even if I have to write it in. Because PCS wouldn't send out shoddy or damaged goods and DPD would be the only people to have handled it between PCS and me.

My DPD driver was either weak, or lazy. PC came slightly damaged too.

PC came with the usual transit-induced problems, graphics card slightly out, things "bumped" out of place and a slightly damaged (but easily repaired) case top.

The driver, however, had to ask for my help to walk along the road to where he was parked and to help him with the box. Surely they should of gotten a driver who could manage the box? I lift weights and such and I'm not all that big, he was bigger and he struggled -alot-. I asked if he could help me down my indoor stairs (I have narrow stairs and a sharp turn) he refused and said he is not allowed and is not part of his job and left. The box does have some weight to it (would say 35-40kg? estimate) I was able to lift it on my own without too much problems but had to ask a neighbor to come in and give a hand getting it down the stairs. I wasn't going to let my £1800 rig get stuck at that corner, or slide and bump down the stairs haha.

I would imagine weak/lazy drivers would cause a real cause for concern for elderly customers or those who may have an injury or something. Mine was left in a communal hallway (and NOT inside my house).

I've just seen a DPD van go by. Can't remember having seen one before but I suppose I am tuned into seeing them now. Plus the DPD depot is a little over half a mile away from me. Reckon I'll get an early morning delivery or is that tempting fate?

You could call them up the night before delivery ask if you can pick it up instead of delivery? I hate waiting for drivers, I cant seem to do anything during the day until its arrived. It also depends if the driver does the closest first or the "easy" ones last.

Yes, I did actually consider this. It would be one less stage in the journey of the computer, and one less chance for it to be damaged.

But then I wondered what if I picked it up, got it home, and find it's damaged? Could they say 'Well you picked it up. It was all right when it left here?'

I do worry sometimes
