It's possible that something was damaged, but could be hard to tell. You can check if all the pins are still on the CPU (and not stuck on the MB slot) and if they're not bent.
Every time that you need to remove the heatsink, it's advisable to:
Turn your laptop on for a few minutes (even in...
Did I get it wrong or are they saying that your frequencies are correct and should be showing 666 indeed? If that's what they're saying, they are completely wrong. You cannot multiply the value by 4, it is only by 2.
Man, please try resetting those ram modules to see if it changes anything...
I agree with @SpyderTracks , it looks like the control center is not working correctly. I'm not sure if this is the correct way, but I would install windows, let it update everything that it can first, and then in the end would try to install control center and other missing drivers.
You should...
No problems for me on 496.76, but my laptop doesn't have an integrated graphics card (or a mux switch), so it should be indeed related to models that have the mux
Great that you're able to sort it out with support's help. Never heard about settings displayed on the BIOS not being saved/used, but anyway... I don't have a desktop for a few years now, so it could be somewhat different to laptops. (y)
As promised, my CPU-Z:
SPD tab, showing my original RAM size and speed of each module: 16Gb 3200 CL22 (2 x 1600Mhz)
Memory tab, with real values: 32Gb (2 x 16Gb) ~3600 CL20 (2 x ~1800Mhz)
And the reason why my real frequency is higher than the default is because I'm doing RAM overclock...
I did repaste my laptop after a year and only noticed improvements on the GPU, as this came from Clevo with the default thermal pad (or whatever it's called) stuck to the heatsink, which is of inferior thermal performance but has better durability.
The DTRs (like mine) don't come with thermal...
Which others, you mean? From what I could see, only the bios is reporting 2666. In 3Dmark it's also showing half of the expected frequency (1333) and it always reports the perceived speeds (2x).
But that's exactly what he's seeing (and I believe he understands that DDR concept). If you go back a few posts, his CPU-Z is reporting 666Mhz, which would double to 1333, still half of the 2666 that it should have been.
The only thing that comes to my mind is that the RAM modules might have...
Since you also have a tongfang, could you please give him some examples of what should be changed on the control center? Do you know what is the TGP that should be used for the 3080 on this chassis?
You can't really compare your overall score and temperatures with @KriSta 's build as his CPU is...
Not the case for 3Dmark, it shows the perceived DDR frequency (of the 2 data transfers). You can see that on everyone else's benchmarks (@KriSta above is an example).
The overall results are not too bad, as according to 3Dmark the average of your build should be somewhere between 21k and 25k. However, your physics (CPU) score is particularly low and there is indeed something weird: your RAM frequencies. Don't think it is related to hardware and it is likely a...
I did run Linux Pop!OS a few months ago on my Clevo and didn't have any driver issues. I used Tuxedo's keyboard drivers and it actually works a lot better than Window's version of Clevo Control Center for Keyboard LED (imo). However, what bothered me the most was the CPU and fan controls. The...
My line of thought was that if the task manager was consuming CPU resources that the game could not use anymore or that it needed to share with, then gaming losing CPU share = less FPS. I get that most of the FPS is based on GPU alone, but still, CPU also plays its part.
If that is the case, then in theory the game's fps should drop, right? It's one thing that @leebee2110 should try to notice.
Another thing that I've remembered when reading @ubuysa 's post is to always have the most up-to-date AMD Chipset drivers and use its custom Ryzen power plan in windows...
