You can’t beat Defender for free antivirus. You can supplement it with Malwarebytes which is also free. I used to use Norton but it has become bloatware & currently has many problems with its VPN judging by their forum posts.

Check that you haven’t dislodged the hard drive or the RAM sticks. Did you just use compressed air or did you use any vacuum cleaner?

Quick suggestion but when was the last time you cleaned the vents of dust & fluff? Have you ever removed the back/side off & cleaned out the inside with canned air?

Try resetting the bios: turn off pc, unplug from mains, remove battery, disconnect all usb devices/ sd cards. Long press the on button to discharge any residual power, remove the bottom cover & remove the cmos battery for 15 minutes then place back. reconnect everything & turn on pc.

For me it’s hit & miss as to whether the fingerprint reader works or not. I’ve even found that my print can work in the Morning but later the same day it fails.

The cable/connection may have been dislodged again in transit back to you. I can see it being due to it being a pre-built pc.

Have you checked under the new touchpad entry in device settings? My Synaptics settings were moved there with an update.

Can you reach safe mode via force restarting 3 times? Is the hard drive flashing/lit or not? Can you connect an external monitor to see if there’s any picture? Is Windows up-to date as well as graphics card drivers?
